Army chief Chalermchai SitthisartArmy chief Chalermchai Sitthisart has blamed the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) for the Big C bombing in Pattani, describing it as inhumane and challenging them to take on the security forces instead of attacking women and children. "Such an act when a leader is replaced is unacceptable," the army chief said. Gen Chalermchai said that under Sapae-ing's leadership there had been negotiations, and the BRN had agreed to stop attacking innocent people during the discussions. The army chief stressed that negotiations could still go ahead, but only when the violence ceased. The army chief said the BRN clearly wanted the United Nations to recognise it as a terrorist group.
